Cultured Marble, Cultured Onyx– This is very popular for Lavs and countertops. Some can look like granite or marble, very reasonable pricing
Polyester and/or acrylic solids – these are called “Solid Surfaces” used for countertops, wall panels, and tubs. Brands include Avonite, Corian, Fountainhead, Swanstone, and many many others
Ceramic tile – used for flooring, showers, walls and lavs – more labor intensive then other products.
Wood – Can be used in bathrooms, with limitations on uses. Please feel free to ask questions
Stainless steel – Best Gauge is 18 gauge which is better than 20 gauge. If you see 18 and 8 it refers to 18% chrome and 8% nickel for a better lasting finish.
Acrylic/fiberglass – these can be confusing terms for tubs and showers because they are used loosely. Fiberglass usually refers to a backing and acrylic to the surface. Sometimes a product is molded in fiberglass and then surfaced with a gel coat that was first sprayed into the mold. There are a few other ways they manufacture these products. They are light weight and allow products a wide range of uses.
